Looking at purchasing a motorhome, the ability to drive wherever you’d like on the open road, a sort of freedom that can only be dreamt of. Now, the important part here is that there isn’t an ‘average’ cost of motorhomes because that is a hugely open-ended topic with all sorts of minute details that go into the price of a motorhome from its age to it’s condition, previous history, service and MOT history, if it’s been involved in an accident and more. Budget Options

It’s worth paying particular notice to the 100,000-mile mark and how old the motorhome is, if it has 100,000 miles over 25 years then you know it hasn’t been used too often and may have better engine wear, however if you’re looking at a motorhome that is 10 years old with 100,000 miles then it may be worth checking it over properly.

Another thing to consider is that often in the cheaper end of the scale you will be looking at a lot of vans that have been converted or dodgy looking vehicles, it’s worth being extra careful here with these.

Mid-Range

The mid-range prices are what you should expect to be paying, for these prices you can expect to get a good deal on a motorhome that has lower mileage, is newer and may even have newer features such as USB sockets pre-installed.

For the price of £15,000-£20,000 you will be able to get a good quality, reliable motorhome second hand with good mileage, this is the price you should expect to pay if you want to have a motorhome that will be smooth to drive and won’t fill you with worry every time you go on holiday that it will break down.

You should expect to see a good service and MOT history for this price with the interior and exterior not featuring too much cosmetic damage and for the vehicle to be in a strong roadworthy condition.

Of course, if you want and can afford to stretch further then you can look at a higher range motorhome, but for this sort of price you will be able to get everything you need in a motorhome.
